Gift Card Pocket Card

 I designed this card layout a few months ago and knew I wanted to feature it with my holiday cards.

The supply list for this project is:

Stamps: Decorative Trees

Ink: Garden Green

Paper: Granny Apple Green card base, 2-3/8 x 4-3/8, scrap;
 Take a Bow DSP 5-7/8 x 4-1/8, 4-1/8 x 1-5/8

Other: Merriest Tree Dies, Pocket Thoughts Dies, Natural Tones Lined Thread

Begin by cutting your card at 4-1/4 x 11, cutting 1-1/2" off the front of the card.

Attach the larger piece of DSP to the front of the card, and the smaller piece to the inside of the card, so it shows where the piece was cut off.

Use a scrap piece of Granny Apple Green to die cut the medium-sized pocket. Fold at the score marks, burnishing the tabs down. Next, use the next to the smallest tree die from Merriest Trees to cut out a window in the pocket.

Next, score the 2-3/8 x 4-3/8 at one inch. Attach the pocket to this piece, leaving the 1" tab. I used tear 'n tape to insure a strong bond.

Attach the 1" tab to the back of the card

And fold the pocket over the top of the card

Stamp a sentiment to the inside of the card, and to the pocket on the front

Insert your gift card, and use the green linen thread to tie the card all together.

For a variation, you could emboss the pocket instead of cutting out a window.
