Double Dry Embossing

Have you ever tried to dry emboss using two different embossing folders? That's what we are going to be doing today!

Supply List for today's card is as follows:

Ink: Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy

Paper: White 4 x 5-1/4", scrap
Night of Navy 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
Boho Blue card base
Gold Foil scrap

Other: Blending Brushes, Snowflake Sky EF, Painted Trees EF, Adhesive Sheets, Peaceful Season Dies, Sandpaper, Gold Twisted Thread

I began this project by embossing the white panel of CS with the Snowflake Sky EF

Then I ran it through the Painted Trees EF

This is what it looks like after running through both embossing folders

Next, I used blending brushes to start applying color. I added Boho Blue ink to the sky

Then I added Misty Moonlight to the trees

Then I finished it off with Night of Navy to the bottom and worked it upwards, blending it as I went

Next, I took a little bit of sandpaper and lightly brushed it over the trees to lift off some of the color.

I forgot to take pictures of the rest, but here is what I did... I cut the "Christmas" shadow and the "Merry" piece from white using the Peaceful Season Dies. I added a small piece of an adhesive sheet to the back of the gold foil and cut out the "Christmas" die, then layered it onto the white shadow piece. I stamped "Merry" in Night of Navy and blended a bit of Boho Blue around the edges. Next, I tied a bow using the Gold Twisted Thread and attached it with a glue dot, and adhered both to the card front using dimensionals.

I then layered that onto a piece of Night of Navy, then the Boho Blue card base.

I promise that I've got some projects coming up that use traditional Christmas colors, but I've been having so much fun switching things up a bit!
