Embossing on Glimmer Paper!

Did you know that you can heat emboss on Glimmer Paper?! Today's project features lots of sparkle and heat embossing (one of my favorite techniques ever!) mixed with a fun new bundle, Decorative Trees on pg. 42 of the mini catalog.

This card also features my favorite pink shade ever, Pretty in Pink, and I'm so happy to have it back as a 2024-26 In Color!

Supplies used for this project:

Stamps: Decorative Trees, Sparkling Snowflakes

Ink: Pretty in Pink, Versamark, Balmy Blue

Paper: Pretty in Pink card base, scrap; Basic White 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" panel, 5-3/8" x 1-1/2" strip, scrap; Pretty in Pink Glimmer Paper (from the 2024-26 In Color Glimmer Paper Pack)

Other: Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder, Decorative Trees Dies, White Embossing Powder, Blending Brush, Rhinestones, Adhesive Sheets

I began by embossing and cutting the tree from the glimmer paper.

Next, I cut the swirly tree (very technical name!) from glimmer paper and attached it to a Pretty In Pink tree. The plain tree die is bigger than some of the more decorative tree dies, but it's easy to cut the bigger one down to size. I also cut a little bow and a tree stump from the glimmer paper to finish this tree off.

Next, I cut the snowflake tree out of basic white and attached it to a glimmer paper tree.

I did find that putting adhesive sheets on the back of the more decorative trees helped me to easily and cleanly adhere them to the solid tree. In fact, I'd say using it is a must if you are attaching anything to glimmer paper.

To put this card all together, I ran the white panel of CS through the Snowflake Sky EF and used a blending brush and Balmy Blue ink to give it a light tint. I tore the edge of the white strip and added a little ink to that as well to create a snow drift.

I stamped my sentiment on the lower edge of the drift, then added it to the embossed panel. I attached that to the card, added the trees using dimensionals to pop the second one up a bit, and then added some rhinestones for a bit more sparkle.

I hope you'll give this technique and fun bundle a try!
